Good Thursday morning! Raining ending this morning from west to east with highs in the 70's. Have a wonderful Thursday.

Areas of rain and drizzle will gradually end from west to east today. Localized heavy rain is possible over far southeast Kansas. Gusty north winds will usher in cooler temperatures from the north.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kansas, including
the following counties, in south central Kansas, Cowley, Harper and
Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Chautauqua, Elk, Labette, Montgomery,
Neosho and Wilson.

* WHEN...From 5 PM CDT this afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and storms producing heavy rainfall are expected to
develop late this afternoon and become more numerous this evening
into Wednesday morning. Another around of heavy rain is then
expected Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, with the Flint
Hills into southeast Kansas having the higher chances to see
flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

A strong cold front will gradually usher in much cooler temperatures from the north the next few days. Near record high temperatures are possible today south of the incoming front.

Happy Monday morning! Highs today in the 80's to 90's with a look ahead to the end of the week with cooler temperatures and chances for rain. Have a great Monday.

Above average temperatures will persist through Tuesday, with a drastic cool down likely by mid to late week and into next weekend. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected late Tuesday through Thursday. Heavy rainfall and localized flooding is possible.

Chances for showers and storms continue through early Friday morning, then fall-like weather is forecast to dominate the weekend. A couple strong to severe storms are possible Wednesday afternoon & evening, and locally heavy rainfall is possible through Thursday night.

Through tonight, the heaviest rainfall is expected over western and central Kansas. The axis of heavy rainfall is expected to shift to eastern Kansas for Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Flooding will be possible with the stronger showers and storms for Tonight through Thursday.

Cooler temperatures are in store for the entire area through Thursday with daytime highs ranging from the mid 70s to low 80s. Rain chances will return to central Kansas on Thursday.
