In the first four months of 2026, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Erie continued investing directly into Erie homes, neighborhoods and residents.
Even with a rough winter to start the year, our Housing Services team has already completed or advanced 56 housing units through our programs.
That includes:
5 completed projects
23 projects under contract
28 projects approved and in progress
From January through April, RACE invested more than $314,000 directly into rehabilitation work and more than $728,000 in total program activity supporting housing, neighborhood stability and reinvestment in the Erie community.
These numbers represent more than reports. They represent safer homes, stronger neighborhoods and continued commitment to the residents who call Erie home.

From keeping homes dry, clean, and safe, to ensuring they are affordable, accessible, and well-maintained, each step contributes to a healthier place to live. Housing is more than shelter, it is the foundation for health, stability, and opportunity.
At RACE, this work continues every day through housing rehabilitation, lead hazard reduction, and neighborhood revitalization efforts across Erie.

Save this checklist and share with your neighbors!
A healthy home should also be ready. Emergency preparedness helps households stay safer before, during, and after severe weather or other unexpected events. Taking time to prepare supplies, update emergency contacts, and make a household plan can help reduce stress and improve safety when it matters most.

When housing costs take too much of a household budget, families are often forced to make difficult tradeoffs. Affordability affects housing stability, health, and access to other basic needs. Healthy homes are not only safe and well maintained, they also need to be within reach for the people who live in them.
