Every stride helps support conservation efforts for one of Africa's most endangered carnivores: the African painted dog.

Join fellow runners, walkers, wildlife lovers, and their four-legged friends at Lucky Dog Stay & Play for a morning of fun benefiting African painted dog conservation and local dog advocacy organizations.

Whether you're looking to hit a new personal best, enjoy a leisurely walk with your pup, or simply support a great cause, this event is for you. After the race, stick around for the after PAW-ty featuring local vendors, community partners, and fellow animal lovers.

It’s Equipment Day! 🚜Get ready to climb aboard, explore, and discover as vehicles and equipment from organizations throughout the community make their way to the Erie Zoo. 🚧

👷Thanks to the support of our friends at Chick-fil-A Peach Street Erie & Chick-fil-A 12th St Erie the first 1,000 kids joining us will receive a yellow plastic construction hat!

This event is included with regular zoo admission or free with your zoo membership. The fun kicks off at 10am and runs until 2pm, and we can’t wait to see you there!

🚨 ALL ABOARD! 🚨 After 3 years of hard work, our beautiful Locomotive 344 has officially transitioned from gas to electric and is ready to roll and welcome riders daily, starting TODAY! 🚂💨

✨ Did you know we're the FIRST in the state to convert a gas locomotive to an electric locomotive? We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Okel Family, whose support helped us convert this train into an eco-friendly model that enables us to serve our mission more closely.

For the initial few weeks, the train will operate during daytime hours only. However, we anticipate expanding our schedule to include evening events such as Glow Wild, Wild Wednesdays, and ZooBOO in the near future. Please stay connected with us for updates!

Stop by tomorrow, Saturday, June 6, to take a ride on train 344. Any guest who shows their train ticket to our gift shop worker can be entered to win a toy train set in honor of the reopening of our train! The winner will be drawn at 4 pm on June 6 and contacted by phone call.

🎉 Attention Parents! Now that school is out for some of our local school districts, that means it's time for zoo fun at Summer camp! 🌞

We have openings in our "What's on the Menu" camp, which runs next week, June 8-12, for both 6-8-year-old and 8-13-year-old campers!

With an incredible sense of smell, pigs use their noses to explore the world around them. In this case, that world happened to include a camera.

Visayan warty pigs are critically endangered, and ambassador animals like Ernie help guests connect with and learn about this remarkable species.
