School will be back in session soon! 🚌

Let's make safety a top priority by knowing the rules of the road. Drivers need to know how a new Kentucky law (KRS 189.370) impacts what they should do if they see a bus with red flashing lights and an extended stop arm:

• When this occurs on a road with more than two lanes that doesn't have a raised or unpaved median, traffic in all directions and lanes must stop.

• The only exception to this law is on a four-lane or more road that includes a raised or unpaved median. In this instance, traffic opposite to the extended stop arm may proceed.

The Kentucky State Police's top priority is keeping everyone safe at school, work, home and on the road.

UPDATE: Our new friend Alaska made it home! Thank you to everyone who shared and helped find her owners!

This very furry friend ran into our bay from the Circlewood Rd area trying to escape the heat! If you are missing this sweet pup, you can find her at Erlanger Fire Station 3 located on Narrows Rd!

This past week, members of Erlanger Fire/EMS participated in a heavy extrication training class. This specialized training is valuable to our department due to the stretch of interstate within our district, where the volume of commercial and heavy vehicle traffic increases the potential of serious collisions requiring complex extrication.

Thank you to Crescent Springs/Villa Hills Fire & EMS - Public Page for hosting the training and allowing our crews to participate.

Happy EMS Week from Erlanger Fire/EMS!

This week, we celebrate our EMS professionals who give their time, dedication, and passion to a career in EMS. EMS isn’t just about answering critical calls; it’s also about constant training, checking over trucks and closets worth of equipment, sacrificing warm meals and a full nights rest, and jumping at the sound of a tone to run into any situation.

Thank you for answering the call and dedicating yourself to a life of service.
