The saying, “It takes a village” takes on a whole different meaning with Kids vs Cops sports.
SRO Bartleson calls on his Police Officer friends from all over Cape May County to come and partake in the fun. Today nearly 80 kids packed the gym to play Caperball. So the police had to call for backup! We split the kids into two teams (and took a few kids for the cops team😉) then we played back-to-back-to-back round robin games. Every face in the place had a smile!
As always, shout out to Ms. Knudsen, for taking these pictures 📸 , and Mrs. Brunner and Mr. Conley for being referees, timekeepers and even DJing with the old-school jams! 🎶
Last week some of SRO Bartleson’s firefighter friends saw the Kids vs Cops post and asked if they could play… “First Responders vs Kids has a nice ring to it!

💙 A Little Comfort Goes a Long Way! 🧸

The Lower Township Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Women’s Community Club of Cape May for their generous donation of stuffed animals to help comfort children who may be experiencing stressful or frightening situations.

Club President Marilyn J. Meikle and the club members recognized the importance of providing a little extra comfort to children during difficult moments, and we are grateful for their thoughtfulness and commitment to our community.

Thank you for thinking of our department and for your kind words of support for the officers who work every day to keep Lower Township safe. Your generosity truly makes a difference! 💙

🚌❤️ NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK | OCTOBER 19–23, 2026 ❤️🚌

Every school day, children step off a school bus and cross the street trusting that drivers will do the right thing. Don't be the one who lets them down.

🚨 Always stop when a school bus stop-arm is extended and red lights are flashing. Stay alert, slow down, and watch for children near bus stops and along our roadways.

A few seconds of patience can make the difference between a safe trip home and a tragedy. Our children's safety is everyone's responsibility. Let's do our part to keep them safe! 💛
