New proposed legislation in California, that will be voted on in the coming days, will seriously affect charter school operations if passed.

Heritage K-8 (Heritage Elementary School, Heritage Junior High School, and Heritage Flex Academy) was recognized as a 2025 California Distinguished School, an honor bestowed upon only 12 schools in San Diego County, and only 36 charter schools in the state of California.

This recognition is awarded to schools that excel in student performance and closing achievement gaps. Our full press release is available in our link tree.

The Thanksgiving holiday is behind us, but AHCS students are taught to be thankful at every moment! This past Patriot Day, HJHS teacher Betsy Corr encouraged her students to express their gratitude to Escondido's local heroes. The Escondido Fire Department filmed a heartwarming response.

from the entire AHCS community! Today our nation remembers all of the many blessings we enjoy as Americans -- especially the principles of civil and religious liberty for which our forefathers sacrificed, and the providential establishment of our country's sovereignty.

At AHCS, Latin studies begin in grade school. There are many benefits to studying Latin at a young age. To name a few: students learn to appreciate the beauty of language, improve their everyday vocabulary, build grammar skills, and prepare to experience the original Latin composition of many primary texts of the Western canon in high school.
