🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Day at Conneaut Lake Elementary! 🔥🚒

Today, North Shenango FD joined Conneaut Lake VFD and Summit Twp VFD at Conneaut Lake Elementary School for a day of fire safety and prevention education!

Firefighters discussed how to prevent fires and stay safe during an emergency. Students also got an up-close look at the fire apparatus, learned what each vehicle is used for, and explored the tools and equipment firefighters carry to help protect our communities.

Thank you to the school’s staff and students for welcoming us, and to our neighboring departments for working together to share these important lessons. Fire safety starts early, and we’re proud to help our youngest community members learn! 🚒

🚁 Once again, the helipad at the 17 House served an important role in caring for someone in need.

Today, North Shenango Fire Department and EmergyCare Ambulance crews responded to a medical emergency. Due to the severity of the patient’s condition, STAT MedEvac was requested to assist.

The patient was quickly loaded into the ambulance and transported to the fire station to rendezvous with the flight crew. STAT MedEvac arrived just two minutes after the ambulance reached the landing zone. Care was transferred to the flight crew, and the patient was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie.

From the initial response through the transfer to air medical, strong communication and teamwork helped every part of the incident come together quickly. We thank all the crews involved for their coordinated efforts and dedication to patient care.

Having an established helipad at our fire station provides a safe, designated landing area for air medical crews and a reliable location for these critical transfers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the patient and their family. We hope for a positive outcome and a smooth recovery. ❤️
