We had a special moment in the Estacada School District last week, as Estacada High School seniors and Mill Elementary School kindergarteners exchanged letters, words of encouragement, and some Ranger swag. We're all one Ranger family, and we're proud to support our students as they learn how to be role models, supporters, and inspiration for each other.

Estacada third graders posted the largest one-year reading gain of any mid-size or large school district in Oregon. We are also connecting students with opportunities beyond the classroom. This month, our high school Career and Technical Education students visited our local industrial park to explore skilled trade careers, learn about high-wage jobs in our community and connect with potential employers.

Los estudiantes de tercer grado de Estacada registraron el mayor avance en lectura en un año de todos los distritos escolares medianos o grandes de Oregón. Además, estamos conectando a los estudiantes con oportunidades más allá del salón de clase. Este mes, nuestros estudiantes de Educación Profesional y Técnica de la escuela preparatoria visitaron nuestro parque industrial local para explorar profesiones en oficios especializados, informarse sobre puestos de trabajo bien remunerados en nuestra comunidad y establecer contacto con posibles empleadores.

Estacada Third Graders Lead Oregon in Reading Growth!

Estacada third graders made the largest one-year reading gain among mid-size and large districts in Oregon, jumping 14.8 percentage points. They are now more than 10 points above the state average!

Fourth- and fifth-grade students also scored above the state average in reading. These results reflect the hard work of our students, teachers and staff, along with a districtwide commitment to strong literacy instruction and targeted support for every learner.

Our students are getting a closer look at what their futures could hold right here in Estacada. Today, high school students visited Estacada's industrial park to see local industries in action, explore skilled trade careers, and connect with potential employers. These are jobs that keep our communities running and offer pathways to strong wages, specialized skills and long-term careers.

A big thank-you to the local businesses who welcomed our students, shared their expertise, and invested their time in the next generation of workers.

Our first family breakfast of the school year at River Mill Elementary was a great way to start the morning!

Second graders enjoyed breakfast with their families and got to share a little of their school day. These breakfasts give families time to connect with teachers, spend time in the classroom, and stay involved in their children's education. Building those connections helps strengthen the partnership between home and school.

There’s something pretty special about Homecoming in a small town.

Today, every student in our district had a chance to be part of the Homecoming Parade and show a little Ranger pride. Our high school students led the way, serving as great role models for our youngest Rangers as they cheered, waved and celebrated together.

Now, we’re ready for game night! Come out tonight, Thursday October 1st, and cheer on our Rangers!
