Over the last few weeks, your Ester firefighters have been lending a hand at the John Trigg Ester Library to demolish an old outbuilding. Our firefighters got a lot of hands-on experience with building overhaul, an essential firefighting skill, and the library has some more room to grow in the future! Thank you for your hard work, volunteers! 💪🔥👷🏼

A chainsaw was turned into our station by a community member who witnessed it sliding off the back of a flatbed truck turning onto Sheep Creek Extension a few days ago! Please call the station to identify/claim! 🔥

Last week we said goodbye to Engineer Hunter Goff, who headed back to Washington after serving as a Station Duty Officer and Engineer with EVFD for over 2 years. Hunter joined our paid staff after serving at both University Fire Department and , and he hit the ground running at Ester! Some of Engineer Goff's EVFD highlights include: he organized the controlled structure burn led by EVFD this summer; he became our local expert on several station technology and tool upgrades; he was voted EVFD Firefighter of the Year; he responded to several uniquely memorable calls and he personally recruited multiple current members! Thank you for your service to Ester, Hunter, and best wishes on your next adventure! 🔥🔥🔥

Congratulations are in order for Ester's own Sawyer Brown on becoming entry qualified! Sawyer officially joined our department shortly after he turned 18, though he has been a familiar face around EVFD since his childhood! In his time with EVFD, he has helped support our in-house maintenance with his welding and mechanical skills, and has been a great addition to our team overall. Congratulations, Firefighter Brown! 🔥
