🦅💙 Teacher Spotlight: Miss Frank! 💙🦅

This week, we are excited to shine our spotlight on Miss Frank! With five years of teaching experience in first and second grade, Miss Frank brings a strong understanding of what her scholars need to learn and a true passion for ensuring every student understands, grows, and finds success. She became a teacher because she wanted to make a difference every day by helping students believe in themselves and recognize what they are capable of achieving. One thing you will immediately notice when you walk into Miss Frank’s classroom is that she isn’t just working with one set group of scholars. She is actively moving around the room, checking in with students, providing support, and staying on her A-game at all times! She is a strong teacher who knows exactly what her scholars need, and that is her SUPPORT and someone that BELIEVES IN THEM. That is Miss Frank! She is intentional about meeting students where they are, identifying their needs, and making sure no child is left behind. Miss Frank loves teaching phonics and phonemic awareness, building student independence, and watching her scholars’ curious, creative personalities shine. One of her biggest goals this year is to help every scholar understand that they are capable of doing hard things, persevere through challenges, and recognize that hard work pays off! Outside of school, Miss Frank enjoys taking her dog, Lucy, on walks, playing with her cats, doing Pilates, baking, and working on puzzles. A fun fact about her is that she played four years of college soccer and has coached both high school and youth soccer! She is a HUGE soccer fan! If you spend time around Miss Frank, you are sure to hear her favorite expressions, “Ay, caramba!” and “Holy moly guacamole!” Thank you, Miss Frank, for your dedication, intentional teaching, and commitment to making sure every scholar has the support they need to succeed. We are SO lucky to have you on our Pinnacle Academy team! SOAR like an Eagle!

Teacher Spotlight: Miss McDevitt

This week, we are excited to shine the spotlight on Miss McDevitt, who is in her eighth year of teaching and brings so much heart, patience, and passion to her kindergarten classroom!

Miss McDevitt knew she wanted to work with children, but it was a volunteer experience in an elementary classroom during her senior year of high school that made her fall in love with teaching. Today, that same love shines through in the way she supports her scholars each day.

One of the things that makes Miss McDevitt such a special teacher is her ability to meet scholars where they are and help each child grow. Every kindergartner enters the classroom with different strengths, needs, and experiences, and she understands that learning doesn’t look the same for everyone. Through her patience, encouragement, and commitment to her scholars, she helps create opportunities for every child to learn, build confidence, and experience success. She recognizes that sometimes growth happens in little steps, and those steps deserve to be celebrated just as much as the big milestones!

When asked what she hopes her scholars learn from her this year, Miss McDevitt shared that she wants them to LOVE coming to school. She believes school should be a place where children feel happy, supported, and excited to learn. That mindset is such an important part of building a strong foundation for our youngest learners.

If you know Miss McDevitt, you might hear her ask, “Why is it so kooky-balooky in here today?” when things get a little loud, or encourage her scholars with her classic, “Kiss your brain!” She knows how to bring personality and fun into the classroom while helping her scholars learn and grow.

Outside of school, Miss McDevitt enjoys spending time with her dog, Dollie, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and practicing yoga. A fun fact about her is that she trained service dogs in college! The dogs lived with her, attended classes with her, and prepared for advanced training to support families with children with disabilities.

Miss McDevitt loves kindergarten because everything feels magical to little learners. She especially enjoys watching her scholars grow from learning to write their names to confidently writing full sentences. That growth is a beautiful reminder of the impact teachers make every single day.

Miss McDevitt, thank you for your patience, your dedication to reaching all learners, and your commitment to making school a place where every scholar can thrive. The foundation you are building goes far beyond academics; you are helping children develop confidence, a love of learning, and the belief that they can accomplish amazing things. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Pinnacle Academy family!

Harvey the Hedgehog is showing students what respect looks like in action! 🦔

Through our Moral Focus™ program, students at our Pinnacle Academy learn how virtues like respect show up in everyday moments, like waiting patiently and letting others go first.

Ask your child: How can you show respect today? We’d love to hear their answers in the comments!

Our Kindergarten scholars had an APPLE-solutely amazing time on their field trip to Patterson’s Fruit Farm! ❤️

We kicked off our adventure with lots of fun playing at Fun Fest and exploring the haystacks! After working up an appetite, we enjoyed lunch together before heading off to learn all about apples! 🍎

Our scholars explored the orchard, got an up-close look at apple trees. We learned how apples are washed and sorted, discovered the story of Johnny Appleseed, sipped some delicious apple c***r, and crunched into fresh, yummy apples! 🍎🥤

What a wonderful day of hands-on learning, exploration, and making memories! Who knew learning could be so SWEET? ❤️

Pinnacle Teacher Spotlight:
Meet the incredibly creative Ms. Lunar! This is her third year in education, and she continues to grow her expertise while finding new and meaningful ways to reach every student.

One of her favorite parts of teaching is seeing those “lightbulb moments” when a student’s face lights up because something they were once perplexed by suddenly clicks! She loves teaching second grade because it’s the perfect age where growing independence and foundational skills come together… all while bringing some pretty BIG personalities into the classroom! 💛

When she’s not inspiring her students, Ms. Lunar enjoys yoga, camping, getting creative with art, comedy shows, and concerts.

We are so lucky to have Ms. Lunar on our K-2 team! Her creativity, passion, and commitment to finding new ways to help students learn make her a wonderful part of our Pinnacle family.

💛 Celebrating Miss Davis!

If you’ve had the opportunity to see Miss Davis in action, you know just how patient, caring, and dedicated she is. She has such a genuine love for her students and for what she does, and it shines through in the way she teaches every day. 💛

Miss Davis is the kind of teacher who understands that learning takes time. She meets her students where they are, encourages them through challenges, and celebrates their growth, both the big milestones and the little victories along the way.

One of her favorite parts of teaching is seeing those “lightbulb moments” when students internalize what they’ve been learning and begin making their own connections. She also loves the funny, unexpected moments that allow her to really get to know each student’s unique personality.

This year marks Miss Davis’s 5th year of teaching, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our Pinnacle family! When she’s not at school, Miss Davis enjoys listening to music and relaxing after a busy day.

Thank you, Miss Davis, for your patience, your heart, your positivity, and the love you pour into your students every day. We appreciate you more than you know!

Keep shining! You make a difference every single day!
