We support The City of Eudora Fire Department!
Did you know that Eudora currently has a volunteer based Fire Department? The City of Eudora wants to fix that!

The City has proposed moving forward with a sales tax based model that provides for capital improvement purchases - think expensive firetrucks and gear - instead of paying for those with property taxes.

This frees up enough money in the City's general fund to allow for the hiring of FULL TIME Firefighters to cover 24 hour shifts 7 days a week for the first time in the over 100 year history of the department!

It's an exciting time to be in Eudora!

Like and share this post if you support the Eudora Fire Department and our brave Firefighters!

The City of Eudora says it will hire three full-time firefighters in 2027 if voters approve a 0.5% public safety sales tax in November.

If approved, Eudora's total sales tax rate would not increase, as a different 0.5% sales tax — used to pay off debt associated with Eudora's community building and pool — is set to expire at the end of the year.

This is going to be a HUGE improvement to our community! I am extremely excited to work with the Eudora Schools, our friends at KDOT and the Federal DOT to get this fixed!

We are going to have a lot of conversations as a community on this one - if you are a stakeholder (and I know there's a lot of us!), please stay connected so we can have some community input on this amazing opportunity!

After three years of federal review, the City of Eudora received official notice from the US Federal Highway Administration that the $21,250,660 BUILD Grant Agreement has been approved! This means the project can officially move forward with design/engineering work ahead of planned construction.

This MAJOR IMPROVEMENT will reconstruct Church Street between 28th St. to the south and K-10 to the north plus sections of 20th St., increasing traveler safety and extending utilities to new development opportunities along the K-10 corridor.

This should improve the flow of traffic and driver safety along a major stretch of the City's street network. Expect more details to come out as the project moves forward, including additional engagement with Eudora Schools to prepare for the project and educate commuters on the changes to come.

This is just one of the major infrastructure improvement projects that is underway! The future is looking bright in Eudora, truly a PLACE TO GROW!

Thank you Veterans!

Eudora has a long and proud history of service, and I am extremely grateful for their sacrifice for the freedom we enjoy.

I am very excited that the Eudora Historical Society announced during the City Commission meeting earlier this month that they will be working to install banners celebrating Eudora area veterans along Main Street in beautiful Downtown Eudora! These banners will showcase the remarkable members of our community who have served, and several of them will be up by Veteran's Day this November, with more arriving by next Memorial Day.

Do you have a family member or friend that should be represented? Please reach out to the Eudora Area Historical Society or the Eudora KS Parks and Recreation Department for more information.

Thank you to ALL service members for what you give to all of us!

(Note that these images are for concept only - final banners will look much different).
