Is your child ready for a seat belt? Oklahoma law says children must be at least 8 years old and at least 4’9” tall. But can you answer “YES” for the safest and BEST fit? 👇

🚗 Can my child’s knees bend over the front of the vehicle seat with their back against the seat and feet flat on the floor?
🚗 Is the lap portion of the seat belt low and across the hips, not across the belly?
🚗 Does the seat belt rest on my child’s shoulder and not their neck?
🚗 Can my child maintain that correct position for the entire ride?

If you answered “no” to any of the above, use a booster seat. A safe ride starts with the right seat!

REMEMBER ‼️ Impairment is impairment, no matter the substance — and impairment behind the wheel is DEADLY. Always drive sober.

The McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office normally does not comment publicly on active cases or release details about ongoing investigations. However, because there have been claims that the Sheriff’s Office is not doing anything about the cattle repeatedly getting out near Highway 9 West and Raiford, we believe the public deserves an explanation.
Our office has responded to multiple complaints and filed multiple cases concerning these cattle. We were also in the process of impounding the cattle under Oklahoma state law. During the investigation, it was determined that the owner is a tribal citizen. Due to the jurisdictional limits resulting from the McGirt decision, our office cannot apply Oklahoma state law against the owner in this matter. Because of this, we cannot pursue additional state charges.
The matter has been turned over to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
We will continue responding to reports of cattle in the roadway and forwarding that information to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
Members of the public should not attempt to take, harm, sell, or keep the cattle. Please continue reporting cattle in the roadway to law enforcement.
