Emerald People's Utility District We are a not-for-profit, public power utility serving rural customers of Lane County since 1983.

A group of community members started Emerald PUD in 1983 after being frustrated with the poor service and high prices offered by their private utility company. EPUD now has 80 employees and serves more than 21,000 customers. All events and posts submitted to Emerald PUD’s page are subject to public disclosure under applicable law.

Thinking about adding insulation?
THIS IS THE TIME TO DO IT! 🏠
Qualifying EPUD customers may receive up to $2,000 toward home insulation improvements!

The incentive is funded by state grant dollars received by EPUD, not electric rates. And it can be combined with EPUD's existing insulation rebate ($1 per square foot) for even more savings! These combined incentives can fund up to 100% of your project cost. 🀯

πŸ’š PUBLIC POWER is about more than electricity.

It's about neighbors coming together to build something that would serve generations to come. It's about local leadership, local accountability, and a commitment to putting community first.

EPUD exists because people in this community chose to create a utility that answers directly to the customers it serves. We're honored to carry that responsibility forward every day.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and the opportunity to serve as your community-owned utility.

HAPPY PUBLIC POWER WEEK!

⭐ HAPPY PUBLIC POWER WEEK! ⭐

⭐️ One of the advantages of is that decisions are made with customer-owners in mind. ⭐️

🎀 This morning, EPUD General Manager Kyle Roadman joined KPNW's Wake Up Call to discuss a recent court order that could reduce power generation at Bonneville dams and increase electricity costs throughout the region. He also explains how those costs can affect not-for-profit utilities like EPUD and the customer-owners they serve.

In this interview, you'll hear how Roadman is advocating for EPUD's customer-owners and working to protect them from additional financial burdens at a time when many families are already feeling the strain of rising costs. It's a reminder of one of the key advantages of public power: local leadership focused on the needs of the communities it serves. πŸ’š
