Join the Active Transportation Committee! Applications due Tuesday, October 27th at 5pm. Apply online at eugene-or.gov/atc

If you’re passionate about walking, biking, rolling, or riding the bus and want to help shape the future of transportation in Eugene, then consider applying for the Active Transportation Committee. This year's ATC cohort will have the unique opportunity to weigh in on the next Transportation System Plan -- an update that only happens every 10 years!

The ATC is a group of 15 community members who advise the City of Eugene’s Transportation Planning Team on projects and programs that help make Eugene safer and more accessible for everyone.

The ATC is an engaged community of transportation supporters. Members bring a wide range of perspectives and backgrounds and are united by a shared goal of improving the walking, biking, and bus riding experience in Eugene. Monthly meetings are lively and collaborative, offering opportunities to learn, contribute, and connect with others who care about transportation safety and innovation. The committee meets on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Joining the ATC means being part of a future-oriented group that’s helping Eugene lead the way in active transportation. If you’re ready to share your ideas and help build a better city, consider applying today.

A new wheelchair accessible taxi pilot program begins Oct. 1 to ensure people who use wheelchairs can get transportation any time, filling a longstanding need in the community. Currently, Eugene does not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles operating through local taxi fleets or ride share apps.

There are a ton of ways to get to the Eugene BRiGHT Parade this weekend, Saturday September 26 at 7:30pm. Abundant bike parking will be available at the Farmers Market Pavilion and every LTD route goes to Downtown Eugene. If you are going to drive, make sure to arrive early and use one of the many parking garages. Streets begin closing at 6:30pm, so plan ahead!

To everyone travelling through Downtown, use an alternate route on Saturday night. If you're headed downtown for another reason besides the parade, plan for delays and leave with extra time to reach your destination.

We can't wait to celebrate together! See you there!

🦆 Duck, Duck… MOVE! 📦🚗

Welcome back, Ducks! 💚💛 About 5,000 students—most of them first-year Ducks—will be moving into University of Oregon residence halls Thursday and Friday, so expect some extra traffic around campus.

🚧 Important traffic heads-up: Broadway just west of campus is currently under construction, so expect heavy eastbound congestion leading toward campus.

If you’re heading to move-in, help keep things moving by:
➡️ Approaching campus from the east via Franklin Blvd.
⏰ Arriving during your assigned 20-minute unloading window
🚗 After unloading, following directions to designated parking at Autzen Stadium and using the shuttle back to campus

Not participating in move-in? If possible, avoid the campus area Thursday and Friday and choose an alternate route.

Expect a busy couple of days around Autzen—not quite game-day traffic, but enough to plan ahead. 😉

To our newest Ducks and their families: Welcome to Eugene! 🦆💚 Drive safely, pack your patience, and have a great move-in!

The intersection at 8th Avenue and Mill Street is now open to full capacity! Thank you for your patience as crews finished the concrete work in that area for our new wide sidewalks and street trees.

Broadway goes back to only one lane just before Patterson Street while we build the raised crosswalk. If you are driving in the area, please zipper merge at the cones, meaning you take turns, one car at a time, to enter the single lane from two lanes. Patterson is CLOSED to large trucks and buses while crosswalk work is occurring.

Starting in October, the project will transition to night paving. Come November, Broadway will be new and improved, with smooth pavement, wide sidewalks, streets trees, and upgraded signals.
