THANK YOU, EUNICE! 🇺🇸💙

On behalf of the Eunice Police Department, I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped make our National Night Out event a tremendous success.

Thank you to all of the families, children, community members, businesses, organizations, volunteers, other first responders, and law-enforcement officers who came out to support this important event. Your participation made the evening special and reminded us of what makes Eunice such a strong community.

National Night Out is about more than an evening of food, fun, and fellowship. It is about building relationships, strengthening trust, and bringing our community and law enforcement together.

To our officers and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible—thank you for your dedication and hard work.

Most importantly, thank you to the citizens of Eunice for continuing to support your police department. We are proud to serve you, and we are even more proud to stand alongside you.

From my family to yours, thank you for making National Night Out a great success!

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

As the time quickly approaches us this is a reminder for the anticipation of our upcoming National Night Out event, there will be one activity that will require a little extra coordinated effort.

Unfortunately, time will be limited so each age bracket will only have (5) competitors.

To be fair about the selection process, we are asking that any parent who has a child that wants the opportunity to compete, come to the Eunice Municipal Building (City Hall) between the hours of 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on October
05, 2026 to secure a ticket.

Once the event starts on the following day, a drawing
will be held to choose the competitors. You MUST be present with your ticket to be chosen, as you will receive a special number card to identify you as a competitor.

Thank you.

HOMECOMING PRANKS

“This is the time of year where homecoming events are happening throughout the parish. It has been customary that certain pranks are expected to happen. Whether throwing toilet paper on trees or property, signs with funny slogans, or other mischief, there have been incidents that have gone too far.

Over the weekend, students from a nearby high school drove by homes and decided it was a good idea to discharge fi****ms. One of our deputies’ homes was struck numerous times, striking the wall where his one-year-old daughter was lying. This could have ended in an indescribable tragedy; not only for the family of the child, but for the person who committed the act.

This criminal act would constitute Negligent Injuring, or at worse, NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE, which is punishable by IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT LESS THAN TWO NOR MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS AT HARD LABOR. Discharging fi****ms from a moving vehicle is one of the most reckless and dangerous things that can be done. Shooting fi****ms randomly in the air is the next most dangerous and has resulted in death and countless property damage.”

“Parents, speak to your children about this. If you need assistance from our staff in getting the message out, we are here ready to serve. Let’s do everything possible to make every homecoming event a safe and memorable one for everybody.”
