HUMBOLDT COUNTY HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION·WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2018·
In 1965 the Human Rights Commission was created by the County Board of Supervisors. The role of the commission was greatly expanded in 2001 with the passage of Senate Bill 381, which modified the language of state law regarding human rights commissions. Commissioners are chosen by the Board of Supervisors and appointed on the basis of their interest and concern for human rights. The fifteen member commission represents the appointments of three members each by each supervisor.
