We want to take a moment to address the recent lockdown incident and respond to concerns regarding the timing of our notification out to parents. We completely understand how alarming it is to hear about an emergency on campus—especially from your children—before receiving an official update from the school.

We want to reassure you that your children’s safety is always our first and highest priority.

During an active incident or threat, our staff must direct 100% of their immediate attention to critical life-safety procedures: securing doors, ensuring every student is out of sight and safe, and coordinating directly with emergency responders. Because our staff is actively taking these mandatory safety steps in real time, official emergency messages cannot be sent simultaneously with the initial lockdown response.

Once classrooms are fully secured and first responders are on site, administrative staff work as quickly as possible to draft and broadcast accurate updates to our families. While those minutes can feel long during a stressful situation, this protocol ensures that staff focus entirely on protecting students first and that the information sent to parents is verified and accurate.

This situation serves as an important reminder to ensure we have your most current contact details on file. Please take a moment to verify your phone number and email address, and ensure you are fully registered for our communication portal, ParentSquare, as this is the primary channel we use to broadcast urgent alerts and official updates.

We are deeply grateful for your trust, patience, and partnership as we navigate these situations. We remain committed to keeping our campus safe and will continue reviewing our emergency procedures to serve our school community as effectively as possible.

📣 Parent Leadership Academy – Fall 2026!
We’re excited to welcome families back for a new season of Parent Leadership Academy! Our four-part series begins October 7 and will continue on October 21, November 4, and November 18, from 5:30–7:30 PM.

Registration helps us plan for dinner, childcare, and interpretation. All children must be registered in advance to receive childcare.

✨ What to expect:
Join us for four evenings of learning, connection, and community. Each session will feature a variety of classes designed to give parents and caregivers helpful tools, information, and resources to support their families and strengthen their leadership.

🍽 Free dinner provided
🧸 Free childcare available for up to 20 children, ages 2–10
🗣 Spanish interpretation available
🕠 Dinner & opening: 5:30–6:00 PM | Breakout sessions: 6:00–7:00 PM | Closing session: 7:00–7:30 PM

¡Nos emociona dar la bienvenida a las familias para una nueva temporada de la Academia de Liderazgo para Padres! Nuestra serie de cuatro sesiones comienza el 7 de octubre y continuará el 21 de octubre, 4 de noviembre y 18 de noviembre, de 5:30–7:30 PM.
