At Story Time on Thursday, after meeting several creatures, we finally found The Vanishing Pumpkin! Then we made plans for decorating our own jack-o-lanterns. Maybe you will see some of ours at the Ghouling Gathering on October 22nd!

We would like to thank Tracey and Johnny from Gal and Goat for all the support they have provided for the library! The Garlic Toss during their Garlic Festival raised funds for the new library. Their delicious gelatos were great incentives for our Summer Readers. We enjoyed their tea at our Humanities Nebraska event, when we had tea and cookies with the author, Bess Streeter Aldrich, after Jolene McLaughlin's delightful portrayal of her.

After following the travels of Leaf Man, at Story Time on Thursday, we did leave rubbings from our tree. If the tree's leaves turn to the colors we chose, it will be a beautiful rainbow tree this Fall!
Next week, on Thursday, October 8, we will begin preparing to carve pumpkins for Halloween! Hope to see you there!

Jolene McLaughlin will be portraying this famous Nebraska author. After the presentation, please join us for tea (supplied by Gal and Goat) and cookies with the author.

Our first Book Club at the Library event was a great success! We discussed A Lantern in her Hand and look forward to the Humanities Nebraska presentation on Tuesday, September 29, at the Senior and Events Center at 3:00pm. Following Jolene McLaughlin's program Bess Streeter Aldrich-in her own words, we will have tea, supplied by Gal and Goat, with the author of our first book. This event is open to the public. Hope to see you there
