Evans Fire Protection District Providing professional fire and emergency services with Dedication, Compassion, and Excellence.

The Evans Fire Protection District is staffed with 17 highly motivated and professionally trained Fire Fighters and 3 Captains. Along with a dedicated administrative staff, Evans Fire provides 24 hour coverage for Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Support, Hazardous Material Mitigation and Rescue Assistance 7 days a week on a rotating 48/96 schedule. Known as the "Queen City of the Platte" when incorporated in 1869, Evans was the County Seat of Weld County for many years. From a population of around 400 in a true wild west town, Evans has grown to nearly 19,000 residents living in an urban area with a rural feel. Today Evans Fire Protection District is proud to protect a community where our residents have a wide choice of housing, great schools, all the shopping and amenities of a large town, and a great quality of life. With over 300 days of sunshine each year and a full four seasons, many people relocate to Evans to experience the best of northern Colorado.

It’s fire prevention week! The NFPA is focusing on fires started by household items that get plugged in 🔌 Some of these items include phones, laptops and even e-bikes. Did you know that lithium ion batteries have been the cause of 198,000 structure fires since 2011?

Safe charging means using the chargers your device came with, ensuring you’re charging on a hard surface, unplugging your device once it’s finished charging, stopping charging if the device feels hot, and charging things like e-bikes and tools outside away from any exits!

Today marks 25 years since 9/11. It is a day that reminds us of the lives lost, and the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters on the front lines after a tragic attack on our country. Today, A-Shift did 43 rounds of stairs at our training grounds, which was the equivalent of 110 floors. We will never forget.

Our hearts are heavy today alongside the family of FF Foote & Greeley Fire. The sudden loss of a firefighter is a blow that doesn’t stay contained within one department’s walls. This is a loss that is felt across the fire service.

To our brothers & sisters at GFD; we’re here for you, whatever that looks like in the days/weeks ahead. Whether it’s staffing a shift, showing up to a service, or just picking up the phone, we are here.

To his family, his friends, and everyone who loved him: you are not carrying this alone, the fire service is one big family and we are here to support you as well.

Only two more days to bring your diapers by the station. We are so thankful for those of you that have already donated! We have filled our box, but we want to keep going (and we want to take home the win!) Not only are we accepting new unopened boxes of diapers and wipes, but you can also bring by opened packages of diapers that kiddos may have outgrown. As long as the diapers are clean and have a size, we can accept those lingering packs from your basements!

Evans Fire units, UCHealth EMS and Evans Police Department are on scene of a multiple vehicle accident at 37th St and Highway 85. Please avoid the area to allow responders to operate.
