💙💚 Happy International Credit Union Day! 💚💙

Our friends at Veridian Credit Union completely cleared Ms. Ashley’s classroom wishlist! 🥹😭

We are SOOOO, SOOOO grateful for community partners who show up for our students and help make our classroom even better! These donations make such a difference, and we truly cannot thank Veridian enough for their generosity and support! 🫶🏼📚✨

Thank you for being part of our Poyner family! 💙💚

Last week, our students were asked to choose a word they would like to emulate — a word that represents the kind of person they want to be. 💛✨

Here are the words they chose! 🥹

It’s a beautiful reminder that even our youngest learners have big hearts, big dreams, and so many wonderful qualities they want to grow. We are so proud of the thoughtful, kind, and unique individuals they are becoming! 💙💛

📚👮‍♂️ Cops & Kids! ❤️

The Quota Club and Officer Taylor teamed up to put a book in every student’s hands! Thanks to the Quota Club’s generous donation, students had the opportunity to choose a book of their own to take home and enjoy. 📖

Officer Taylor also talked with students about the importance of reading and how books can open the door to new adventures, ideas, and learning!

A huge THANK YOU to the Quota Club and Officer Taylor for investing in our students and helping foster a love of reading! 🥰📚

💬🗣️ October is AAC Awareness Month! 💙

At Poyner, we believe every voice matters, and every student deserves to be heard! 💙

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes tools and strategies that help individuals communicate when speaking is difficult or not their primary way of communicating. AAC can look like communication devices, picture symbols, communication boards, gestures, and so much more!

✨ Communication is more than spoken words.
✨ Every student has something to say.
✨ Every attempt to communicate deserves to be acknowledged.
✨ Everyone deserves a voice, a choice, and the opportunity to be understood.

This month, and every month, we’re celebrating the many ways our students communicate! 💙

Let’s continue to model, encourage, and create opportunities for meaningful communication throughout the day. Because when we make room for every voice, we make our school a more inclusive place for everyone! 🩵
