This year, the Chessmen Club has seen double the requests from our partners who help us feed more than 500 families annually. As an all-volunteer organization, every dollar truly matters. Your year-end gift helps us support families in need and provide scholarships to deserving residents. Please keep the Chessmen on your giving list—90% of every donation goes directly back into our community.
If you are able, please donate here: https://bit.ly/4q6kfw1
Thank you, and Happy New Year.

The Chessmen Club of the North Shore is proud to announce a special scholarship in honor of Mr. James McHolland — or as generations of Evanston students know him, "Mr. Mac" — who retired this year as the beloved Principal of Chute Middle School.
For decades, Mr. Mac has been a tireless champion for Evanston’s children, always believing in the power of community to lift up every student. This scholarship will carry forward his legacy by providing both financial support and mentorship to young people as they navigate college and beyond.
Let’s come together to celebrate Mr. Mac’s incredible impact and ensure his vision lives on. Your donation will help us support as many students as possible — just as Mr. Mac has supported so many of us.

Evanston, get ready to plug in! ⚡♟️
Members of The Chessmen Club recently had the privilege of meeting at The Aux — an incredible space dedicated to healing, wellness, and racial equity. Co-owners Tosha Wilson and Jacqui White have created more than just a venue — they’ve built a vibrant hub for Black entrepreneurs and a powerful space for connection and transformation in our community.
