Some people won’t survive October.
Not because they have a disease. Not because of an accident. But because the person who promised to love them chose violence instead.
Every day, victims of domestic violence wonder if today will be the day they escape… or the day they don’t.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, remember that abuse thrives in silence, but hope begins with one conversation, one safe place, and one phone call.
Since 1978, Self Help Center has stood beside survivors with emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling services, and unwavering support. For nearly 50 years, we’ve been committed to providing help and hope to those who need it most.
If you or someone you know is living in fear, you don’t have to face it alone.
Help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Self Help Center Crisis Line: (307) 235-2814, One call can change a life. It may even save one.

A Night of Remembrance, Hope & Community -

Our annual Candlelight Vigil was a beautiful and meaningful evening of remembrance, reflection, and hope. We were honored to gather with community partners, family members, friends, and supporters who came together to mourn and remember those whose lives were lost to domestic violence, while also lifting up the voices of hope and the work being done to end violence in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their voices, offered their support, and helped make this evening so meaningful. Your presence reminds us that we are not alone in this work—and that together, we can create a safer future.

As we remember those we have lost, we remain committed to those who are still here. We will continue our mission to support survivors, provide shelter and safety, and walk alongside every person who seeks services at our center as they begin their journey toward healing.

Together, we remember. Together, we heal. Together, we work toward a community free from violence - The Self Help Center 💜🕯️
