What if Permanent Daylight Savings Time Passes?…Here’s something to think about! Your kids will be picked up to go to school the majority of the time throughout the school year in the dark. This is a huge safety concern especially for the younger elementary kids. You really want your kindergartener standing out in the dark waiting for a bus? Kids that age don’t exactly wait at the bus stop either, they run around but now it would be in the dark and risk not being seen by other vehicles. Also how many kids are not at the bus stop on time that we see running to catch the bus. We won’t be able to see them coming in the dark so more likely to miss the bus.
There are more reasons I could add as to why this isn’t a good idea. As a school bus driver’s point of view this is a nightmare scenario and more accidents waiting to happen. Just something to think about!
