What does freedom mean to someone who had to fight for it? Join us at Evening Shade Library to hear author Corinna Montgomery share her story and sign copies of her book, The Wings of Freedom.

Born in East Germany, Corinna tells a personal story of survival, rebuilding her life, and finding strength through faith. Come meet the author and hear the story behind the book!

The Evening Shade library along with the Sharp County Libraries started last week BINGO for patrons of nearly all ages. Each library has cards pick a library or all four to play! This event ends in November. Plenty of time to play.

Evening Shade Library is saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly touched so many lives, not only through her music, but through her love of children and reading. Through her Imagination Library, she helped put millions of books into the hands of children and encouraged a love of reading at an early age.

What a wonderful legacy to leave behind. Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the memories, and especially for helping so many little readers.

We can all help continue that legacy by encouraging children to read, bringing them to the library, and helping them discover the joy that can be found inside a book.

We’ve got that mural itch again… 🎨👀

Reminiscing on this downtown beauty and the way a once-blank wall became a piece of Batesville. 🌸

Created by the incredibly talented Carly Dahl + Dustyn Bork, this mural is still one of those little moments downtown that makes us stop, look up, and remember just how much ART can change a space.

And now… we’re getting the itch for another art collaboration. 🤭
