Introducing the newest addition to our official ballot drop box family: Salem Woods Elementary in Monroe. With this latest addition, Snohomish County voters now have 38 official ballot drop boxes to choose from to return their ballots.

Ballot drop boxes are open 24/7 until 8 p.m. on Election Day and are the most direct and reliable way to return your ballot. Find a ballot drop box near you at bit.ly/SnoCo_dropbox.

You can also return your ballot by mail, but we encourage you to send it at least one week before Election Day, November 3, to ensure there is plenty of time for postmarking and delivery. If it’s less than a week before Election Day, use a drop box!

After you return your ballot, be sure to track it at VoteWA.gov. You can also sign up for text alerts to get notified when your ballot is received, verified, and accepted for counting.

Your November Election ballot packet is here! Ballots were mailed on Friday, and most should have arrived by now. Once you have yours, don't wait — fill it out and return it as soon as you can.

Haven't received your ballot yet? If it doesn't arrive by today, October 14, call Snohomish County Elections at (425) 388-3444.

Inside your ballot packet, you'll find:

• An information page (also called the ballot "wrap") with election information and instructions. Your ballot is folded inside this wrap, so be sure to unfold it completely to find your ballot.

• Your November Election ballot (folded inside the ballot "wrap").

• A ballot return envelope. Remember to sign the voter's oath on the return envelope before returning your ballot! Your signature is required for your ballot to be processed.

• An optional ballot security sleeve. This sleeve provides an extra layer of security when returning your ballot, but your vote remains secret with or without it.

And don't forget about your voters' pamphlet! It was mailed separately and includes information about candidates and measures on November General Election ballots. The races and measures on your ballot depend on your residential address, so not everything in the pamphlet will appear on your ballot.

Visit snoco.gov/elections to read the voters' pamphlet online, find a ballot drop box near you, and get more election information.

We want to make voters aware of a spelling error on ballot return envelopes included in ballot packets for the November 3 General Election.

You may notice that the word "General" is misspelled on your ballot return envelope. This is a printing error only. Your ballot is still valid, and this typo does not affect how your ballot is processed or how your signature is verified. You can complete and return your ballot as usual.

We have corrected the information for any additional ballot packets mailed for this election and are reviewing our procedures to help prevent similar errors in the future.

We take our responsibility to provide accurate election materials seriously. Thank you to the community members who brought this to our attention and to all our voters for your understanding.
