Farm tours, festivals, farm-to-table dinners, pumpkin patches, markets, and other agritourism events often include food, beverages, vendors, and temporary food service. This session at Focus on Farming & Forestry Conference will help farmers and agritourism operators understand the food safety requirements, permits, and best practices needed to host safe and successful public events. Participants will learn when a temporary food permit may be required, how to prepare for inspections, what common food safety issues to avoid, and how to work with the Health Department early in the planning process. The session will also highlight practical steps to protect visitors, vendors, and farm businesses while creating a positive guest experience.

We hope to see you at this year's Focus on Farming & Forestry Session. Come learn about 💩!

In this session, Whit Barrett from Snohomish Conservation District will review best practices for manure storage, handling, composting, and field application. When managed effectively, manure can be a valuable asset for improving soil health, reducing input costs, and improving pasture and cropland productivity. Special considerations for manure management on smaller properties will also be discussed.
