We kicked off our PTA's SchoolStore program today, which helps our school raise money. Over the last two years, we were able to raise over $15,000 for our students and teachers!

Scan the QR code on the Book Buddy Lanyard that was sent home with your student to find out how the program works. After creating an account and sending emails to eight (8) family or friends, write the prize code on your student's lanyard and have them return it to school for their Book Buddy participation prize. These emails are how we raise the most money!

Thank you for your support!

All kids are all of our kids.

All kids are all of our kids.

A school should be a place for learning, friendship, discovery, and growth.

Yesterday, in Bend, Oregon, that sense of safety was shattered.

Students and teachers deserve so much better than lockdowns, fear, and trauma becoming part of the school experience.

Our hearts are with everyone affected, and we're exhausted by the fact that this keeps happening.

Every child. Every educator. Every school community. Safe should be the expectation, not the exception.

Don't forget!

Our annual scavenger hunt is this Thursday, October 15th from 5:00 - 630PM. After grabbing your stamps from each area, enjoy dinner from Touba Bakery. Bring a blanket to share a picnic, or take your gran-and-go dinner home after a fun evening.

Along the way, you will have the chance to learn what it means to be a Title 1 school.

Join us this Thursday, October 8th for our PTA Zoom meeting! We're a fun group. :)

Today is Orange Shirt Day.

Today opens the door to conversations about Indian residential schools, and to bring awareness to the effects of the schools in order to learn truth and engage in reconciliation.

September 30th was chosen for Orange Shirt Day because it is the time of year in which children were historically taken from their homes and their families to Indian residential schools.

The orange shirt recognition comes from the story of Phyllis Webstad, who was taken and put into a residential boarding school at the age of six. She wore her shiny orange shirt; a gift from her grandmother. When she was stripped of her personal belongings - including her clothes - a shirt that once represented joy and innocence turned into a representation of immense grief, abuse, and trauma. Wearing orange today is a small act that makes a big impact; telling all of the indigenous peoples of our community that they are valued, they are loved, and they belong - a message that directly conflicts with what was told on that first day and every day in residential schools.

"Let us put our minds together and see what kind of life we can make for our children".

Happy national PTA appreciation day! We are so fortunate to have our parent board members who lead our PTA with humor, passion, and grace.

Yesterday, we showed our appreciation to them with some on-theme polar bear cookies, handwritten cards, student coloring pages, and a fresh garden bouquet.

You truly help make Olivia Park the best place to be.

It's never too late to join our PTA to help support the students and teachers of Olivia Park. Click the link below to join!
