annexation to survive, Evergreen Park boldly decided to declare its independence. Fifty-one residents turned out on December 20, 1893 when forty of them voted for incorporation

The deadline to apply has been extended!
Eligibility for the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund has been expanded and the deadline to apply has been extended to Oct. 31, 2025, to help more homeowners.
Apply now at hrf.cookcountyil.gov
Updated eligibility requirements include:
🏠 You must own and occupy the property as your primary residence.
💵 Your total household income must be at or below 100% of the Cook County Area Median Income (AMI).
📈 Your property tax bill must have increased by at least 30% (previously the threshold was 50%) in any of the 2021, 2022 or 2023 tax years.
