What an incredible story and a reminder of just how much our first responders mean to this community.
Over 17 years ago, a mother experienced every parent’s worst nightmare when her son, Owen, was born at home without signs of life. She immediately began CPR, and within five minutes, members of Whatcom County Fire District #1 arrived to help.
One of those firefighters was Greg Macy, who is now the Assistant Fire Chief.
Fast forward 17 years, and here they are, standing side by side for another photo. A moment that I’m sure neither of them will ever forget.
We want to take a moment to recognize Assistant Fire Chief Greg Macy and the entire team at Whatcom County Fire District #1. The work our firefighters and first responders do every day often goes unnoticed, but stories like this show just how much of a difference they make.
Thank you, Chief Macy, and thank you to all the men and women of WCFD #1 for everything you do for our community.
17 years later, this photo says it all. ❤️🚒
