Wednesday Art Classes with Mrs. Peterson through Dover-Eyota Community Education start this week!

October 7 & October 21: 3-4 pm
Students will make a leaf art with a variety of different art supplies. We will explore negative space and mix media printmaking!

November 4 & November 11: 3-4pm
Students will create tiny thanksgiving food from polymer clay. And we will construct turkey sculptures using chomp saws, cardboard and paint. Both projects will be sure to add a creative display to your Thanksgiving table!

Our third graders put a fun STEM twist on a classic story! After reading a version of Little Red Riding Hood, students used their coding skills to help Little Red find her way to Grandmother’s house!

Then, they took those skills to the next level with our Bee-Bots! Students worked together to plan, problem-solve, code, and navigate their Bee-Bots to their destinations.

There was lots of teamwork, learning, smiles…and definitely a few giggles along the way!

In 3rd grade, we wear party hats 🥳

This week, Ms. LaPlante’s 3rd graders have been learning how to carefully follow directions while reading and creating party hats! Each day, students reread the directions and practiced really diving into the text to make sure they understood exactly what they were reading and what they needed to do.

Today, they finally got to put those reading skills to work and create their very own party hats! 🎩 They had so much fun getting creative while showing off just how well they could follow directions.
It was the perfect fun and festive way to put their reading skills into action and end the week! 🎉
