Chena Goldstream Fire & Rescue had a great time attending this year’s College & Career Fair at UAF!

We enjoyed meeting with students, sharing what it’s like to work in the fire service, and discussing the different career and training opportunities available.

Thank you to the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District and University of Alaska Fairbanks for putting together this event. We hope to see some of these students in the fire service someday!

Recently, CGFR said our goodbyes to Engineer Paulson and Engineer McMahon as they move on to new adventures.

While we’re definitely sad to see them go, we’re excited to see where this next chapter takes them! We’re grateful for the time, hard work, and dedication they’ve given to CGFR and the crew.

We wish you both the very best in whatever comes next! And if you’re ever back in town, stop in and say hi. You’ll always have a place here!

Our crew is providing ambulance coverage at the top of Ester Dome to help ensure medical assistance is available in the event of an emergency.

We wish the best of luck to all of the runners taking on the Equinox Marathon today. Stay safe, run strong, and enjoy the race!

The crew and volunteers today participated in the 9/11 memorial stair climb. In memory of all of the lives tragically lost on this day years ago, we are proud to be able to work together with the other departments in the area for this event. We will never forget!

Last night after dinner, C-Shift firefighters decided it was the perfect time to get outside and throw some ladders!

Training in darker conditions is an important part of staying prepared. Emergencies don’t wait for daylight, and firefighters need to be confident and proficient with ladder operations no matter the time of day.

Consistent training helps ensure our crews are ready when you call 911.

Every Wednesday we do a department lunch to thank our crews for all the hard work they do, and support local businesses. This week we had the pleasure of having representative Ashley Carrick and staff. They got to learn about our roles, responsibilities, and day to day operations. While they were at the station she talked about key issues that they are working on in our service area. Thank you for all you do and taking time out of your day to have lunch with us.
