Resource Center for Parents and Children Because kids don't come with instructions! Over the years our programs and services have varied; however, all have focused on the same mission.

The Resource Center Parents and Children (RCPC) has grown in size, strength, and commitment since 1973, when it was started by a small group of concerned Fairbanks citizens who met as the Fairbanks Child Protection Task Force (FCPTF) to discuss the problems of child abuse and neglect in the Fairbanks community. The prevention of child abuse and neglect begins with strengthening the family structure, helping parents with parenting skills, and providing a safe place for parents to share and deal with parenting issues. The Resource Center for Parents and Children has been successful due to quality staff, programs and countless volunteers and social service agency partners. To all that have shared in our agency's history, thank you.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜

As we enter the last week of October, let us remember, a person’s safety is not personal. It is not limited to “family business”. It is up to all of us to stand up against domestic violence. If you see something, say something. Otherwise, silence feeds the violence.

Please help us help the Alaska Children's Alliance spread the word!

The Alaska Children's Alliance is hiring and excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our next Executive Director!

This transition comes with a lot of mixed emotions. Our current Executive Director, Joanna Penfold has been offered an incredible opportunity to pursue her dream job! We are so happy for her and incredibly grateful for the leadership, passion, and dedication she has brought to the Alaska Children’s Alliance. While we are sad to see her go, we couldn’t be more excited for her as she begins this next chapter in her career.

We are looking for a passionate, mission-driven leader who is ready to champion child advocacy centers across Alaska, strengthen our statewide network, and continue advancing our shared commitment to supporting children and families impacted by abuse.

Could that person be you? Or do you know someone who would be a great fit? Please share this opportunity with your networks and help us find the next leader to guide the Alaska Children’s Alliance into its next chapter! Please email your cover letter and resume to [email protected]. Job posting closes on November 15, 2026.

If you want a copy of the job description, please email [email protected]
