IDEA Homeschool

🇺🇸 Today, as we mark 25 years since the September 11 attacks, our superintendent sent a call for unity to all Galena City School District families and staff. His invitation echoes to all Americans. Here's an excerpt from his letter:

"Twenty-five years later, perhaps one of the most meaningful ways we can honor those we lost is not only by remembering the tragedy of September 11, but by remembering the humanity of September 12."

If you'll be at the Arctic Lightning Air Show this weekend on Eielson Air Force Base, come say hi at the IDEA booth!

We'll be giving out light bulbs on a stick, which you can use as a fan or to shield your eyes from the sun while watching the show! 😎 ✈️

There's something truly special about IDEA graduation ceremonies.

You can feel it as each graduate walks to the middle of the stage and is greeted there by family members who present the diploma.

It's a simple gesture that reflects the fact that IDEA families aren't just bystanders of their child's education. They are active participants, walking alongside their child for every step of the journey. 🩵

Big congrats to the remarkable graduates and families of IDEA Homeschool's Class of 2026! 🎓 🎉

It's official! 🎉 IDEA Homeschool is now a Purple Star School!

The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military.

Over the past year, IDEA’s contact teachers and staff have listened carefully to the experiences of our military-connected families and then developed events, tools, and resources designed specifically for their needs.

We are honored to serve the families of all who serve our country! 🇺🇸

We'd like to take a moment to thank our longtime event sponsor: Rainbow Resource Center, Inc. 👏

Because of their generous sponsorship, we've been able to grow our Fair with bigger venues, additional exhibitors and MUCH MORE to offer our families every year!

🌈 ABOUT RAINBOW RESOURCE CENTER:

In 1989 Rainbow "Re-Source" Center began as a curriculum recycling service to help stretch the homeschooling budget. As their family-owned company transitioned to selling new products, they maintained their desire to keep prices low while offering products they knew worked well in a homeschooling setting—catering to each student's learning style and parents' teaching methodologies.

🌈 HOW TO ORDER:

Enrolled IDEA families can order from Rainbow Resource Center (and many other Fair vendors) direct-billed from your 2026/27 allotment here:

You may also browse the Rainbow Resource website for over 50,000 products in all subjects for grades PK to 12:

Note: IDEA Fair ordering closes on Friday evening, May 1st!

Our IDEA Curriculum Fair registration is now open! We're so happy to be back in-person this year for our event at the Westmark Hotel on April 25-26.

We'll also have virtual workshops April 11-15—so make sure you sign up this week in order to gain access to special pre-fair online events and other bonus features, as well!

The IDEA Curriculum Fair is the premiere homeschool event in Alaska, where participants have the opportunity to learn about homeschool products from dozens of homeschool curriculum providers and a wide variety of workshops.
