Did you know October is Pedestrian Safety Month? 🚶‍♀️🚗

Yesterday, the of Fairfax Police Department stopped by The Lamb Center to drop off reflective safety gear.

"A big thank-you to the Fairfax City Police Department for bringing us reflective safety gear for our guests and staff! Many of our guests walk around Fairfax early in the morning and after dark, and these items will help them be seen and stay safe. We appreciate the close partnership and the way you look out for the community." - Tara Ruszkowski, CEO of the Lamb Center

Safety is a two-way street. Swipe through for tips from FCPD for both pedestrians AND drivers:

âś… Make eye contact before crossing
âś… Wear bright or reflective clothing at night
âś… Slow down and watch for people in crosswalks
âś… Never pass a car stopped for a pedestrian

Thank you, City of Fairfax Police Department, for looking out for our community. Be seen. Be safe. đź’›

God of Celebration and Comfort

Dear Lamb Center prayer partners, please pray this prayer with us on Monday, October 19th, at 9:30 a.m., when we gather for morning prayer at The Lamb Center.

As we celebrate your faithfulness at our Annual Banquet on Thursday, October 22nd, we give thanks for this journey toward permanent supportive housing. The mural on two walls of Beacon Landing shows a bird seeking rest and comfort in a tree, a picture of the comfort 54 of our most vulnerable neighbors will find when Beacon Landing opens its doors.

We are blessed to see beauty emerging every week as construction nears completion, and even now, neighbors are being matched with their new homes. We look forward to the day in December, at the start of Advent and Hypothermia Prevention Season, when Beacon Landing opens its doors and 54 neighbors move in. We trust it is your desire that every neighbor have a safe, warm place to lay their head at night.

In Christ’s name we pray,
Amen

Yesterday, Deacon Dave and Deb Haynes led our chapel service on the 10th anniversary of their ordination. We also celebrate Deacon Dave's birthday, and we are so grateful for the way God has moved in his life. We are so blessed to honor this milestone and the love and guidance they have poured into TLC and into serving our most vulnerable neighbors.Thank you, Dave and Deb. 🙏
