Even George Washington’s will travels with a deputy!📜
the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian of the first president’s will? Whenever this historic document is moved, an FCSO deputy must be present.
On Oct. 2, three deputies teamed up with Fairfax County Circuit Court Historic Records Office staff to bring the will to the Loudoun County Historic Courthouse for Leesburg’s First Friday. Visitors viewed two pages as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration—including a page mentioning Loudoun County real estate!
🎥 Go behind the scenes with Sgt. Dan Robles for a look at this unique responsibility and a piece of history with local roots.
