Happy Fall Rutherford Pool Community!
As the seasons begin to change, there are some changes coming to the Rutherford Board, too — and we’re looking for four members of our community to join the board to help lead us into our next chapter!
For many of us, Rutherford is so much more than a place to swim.
It’s where our kids spend their summers. Where neighbors become friends. Where we gather for swim and dive meets, Friday nights, celebrations, and those ordinary summer afternoons that somehow become some of our most favorite memories.
The pool truly is one of the heartbeats of our community — and it only works because members step forward to help make it happen ~ which is why we need you!
Serving on the Board is an opportunity to bring skills and interests you already have and put them to work for a community we all care about. And you don’t need to be an expert in running a pool!
Could one of these be a fit for you?
Treasurer
· Are numbers, spreadsheets, and budgets your thing? Maybe you’re the person who actually enjoys balancing the family budget. (We know you’re out there.)
· You’ll help keep Rutherford’s finances organized and on track!
Secretary & Communications
· Are you organized, a good communicator, and always seem to know what’s going on?
· This role helps keep the Board organized and our community informed — including taking the lead on pool communications and social media. Bonus points if you know your way around Instagram!
Director of Membership
· Are you a people person who loves welcoming new faces and helping others feel connected?
· You’ll help welcome new families, support current members, manage membership and renewals, and make sure Rutherford continues to feel like our community
Director of Business Operations
· Are you the person who sees something that could work better and can’t resist fixing it? If you like organizing projects, improving processes, figuring out technology, or getting vendors to actually call you back, this could be your role.
· You’ll help keep all the behind-the-scenes pieces of Rutherford running smoothly!
What’s the commitment?
· Each position is a two-year volunteer term.
· Board members attend one Board meeting each month.
· Additional time varies by role and time of year, with some roles busier in-season or off-season

· Anyone formally nominated will be voted on by the membership at the November Members Meeting, with new terms beginning immediately afterward (the outgoing board member will help guide with the transition to make things as smooth as possible)
Rutherford has always been powered by neighbors willing to pitch in, share their talents, and give a little of their time to something that is bigger than all of us.
