As we wrap up another amazing Independence Day celebration, we want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone in our Fairfield Plantation community for your continued support, patience, and encouragement. Seeing so many families gathered together to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday reminds us why we love serving this community.

A very special thank you goes to the firefighters of Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue.

While the fireworks only lasted a short time, the work behind the scenes began long before the first shell ever lit the sky. Our crew was on the dam at 6:00am Friday setting up the racks. Then, at 6:00am Saturday, they were back loading hundreds of fireworks. From there, they prepared for the parade, spent the entire day on the dam completing safety inspections, wiring the show, and performing countless launch checks to ensure everything was ready.

Even with all of that, our crews still answered several emergency calls before, during, and after the fireworks show. Thanks to the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of this outstanding group of firefighters, every emergency received the attention it deserved, and the fireworks show still went off flawlessly and on time.

When the last shell burst overhead, the work still wasn’t over. The crew remained on the dam cleaning up, breaking everything down, and making sure the area was safe before finally heading home well after midnight.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Lakeside Vibe for once again providing an incredible soundtrack to accompany the fireworks. The music added another level of excitement to the show and helped make it an unforgettable experience for everyone watching.

This event doesn’t happen because of one person—it happens because of an incredible team that is willing to sacrifice their holiday so everyone in the neighborhood can enjoy theirs.

To our firefighters: thank you for your countless hours of preparation, your commitment to safety, and your dedication to serving this community. We couldn’t be more proud of each of you.

To Lakeside Vibe, thank you for helping create an unforgettable atmosphere.

And to our neighbors, thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving you. We hope everyone had a safe, memorable, and Happy Fourth of July. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Last night during our weekly Tuesday night training, Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue had the opportunity to conduct multi-company training with Carroll County Fire Rescue.

Because we work closely with Carroll County Fire Rescue on emergency incidents, we invited each of their three shifts to spend an evening touring our community and becoming familiar with the unique layout of Fairfield Plantation. Last night marked the second shift to participate in this training series, with the third and final shift scheduled to join us next Tuesday.

The primary focus of this training has been to give Carroll County’s truck companies an opportunity to evaluate our tributaries and condominium complexes while discussing the best strategies for fireground operations. During each session, the truck company has positioned their apparatus in various locations throughout the neighborhood, allowing us to discuss access, placement, and the most effective approaches to potential fire incidents in these areas.

One of the most valuable aspects of this training has been hearing the different perspectives from each shift. Every crew has brought unique ideas, experiences, and viewpoints to the discussion, helping all of us expand our knowledge and better prepare for future incidents. We are looking forward to welcoming the final shift next Tuesday and gaining even more insight from their perspective.

We would like to thank Carroll County Fire Rescue for their continued partnership and commitment to training. Working together before an emergency occurs helps ensure we can provide the best possible service to our community when it matters most.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Gary Sinise Foundation for awarding us a grant to purchase a brand-new blitz nozzle.

This equipment will enhance our ability to safely and effectively combat large fires by providing a high-volume, unmanned water stream when conditions demand it. Investments like this directly improve the level of service we are able to provide to our community.

One of our ongoing goals is to aggressively pursue grant opportunities whenever possible. By seeking outside funding sources, we are able to obtain much-needed equipment and resources without placing additional financial burden on our residents. Every successful grant application helps us stretch our budget further and ensures that we continue to provide the highest level of fire protection while being responsible stewards of community resources.

We are incredibly thankful to the Gary Sinise Foundation for their support of first responders and the communities we serve. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue and the residents we are proud to protect.

Thank you for helping us continue to do a lot with a little.

We’ve received several comments and questions regarding tonight’s fireworks testing, and we want to take a moment to clarify a few things.

First, this testing did not cost the neighborhood anything. It was conducted at the request of our fireworks provider. Our location is their favorite spot to shoot, and they specifically requested to use our dam. We were happy to oblige because we believed our neighbors would enjoy a free fireworks show. In return, the community was able to enjoy an extended display at no cost.

Second, this event was announced in advance to ensure residents were aware of the testing and timing. We always make every effort to communicate these types of activities ahead of time so there are no surprises.

We understand that not everyone enjoys fireworks, and we appreciate that feedback. At the same time, this was an opportunity to safely test equipment and prepare for our July 4th show—while also providing the neighborhood with a unique experience.

Thank you to those who came out and enjoyed it, and as always, we appreciate the continued support of Fairfield Plantation Fire Rescue.
