Freestone County Burn Ban has been lifted

09/27/2026

09/26/2026

An upper level low pressure system will bring increasing rain and storm chances mid to late next week. Lingering rain chances may also continue into next weekend. The primary concern is heavy rain and localized flooding, so remember to check back for updates over the next few days.

09/20/2026

Scattered showers and storms will return to parts of North and Central TX later this afternoon and into tonight. Many will remain dry, but a few storms could become strong and produce gusty winds and hail. Otherwise, temperatures will rise into the 90s regionwide this afternoon.

09/10/2026

Scattered storms (40-60% chance) are expected to develop across portions of North Texas this afternoon as a weak cold front approaches the region but stalls out in Oklahoma. Coverage this afternoon will be much more isolated (20-30%) between I-20 and US-84 with locations generally along and south of US-84 remaining dry today. While most storms will only contain lightning, brief heavy rain and gusty winds, a couple damaging wind gusts can’t be ruled out north of along or north of the I-20 corridor. Isolated showers and storms (10-30%) may linger across portions of North Texas tonight before showers and storms (30-50% chance) re-develop across portions of North and Central Texas Friday afternoon.
