The Solano WDB joined local manufacturers, educators and workforce partners at the Solano EDC 's Manufacturing Roundtable Wednesday morning in Fairfield. 🏭 💼

The Oct. 21 gathering at the Solano County Office of Education brought partners together to discuss strategies for strengthening the local workforce through training, apprenticeships and career education. The event featured Congressman John Garamendi as a guest speaker.

Representing the Solano WDB were President/Executive Director Dave Hubble, Industry and Training Relations Manager Cynthia Seals-Roper, Business Services Consultants Vankeesha Frank and Sonja Rockwell-Jackson, and Business Services Program Specialist Candice Ward.

Thank you to Solano EDC for bringing these partners together and to all the presenters who shared valuable insights into workforce training and development opportunities.

By connecting local industry with education and workforce partners, we can better align training with employer needs, expand career opportunities and support the continued growth of Solano County’s manufacturing sector. 🤝

🎓 What’s ahead for education in Solano County?

Join community leaders, policymakers, businesses and key stakeholders for the 2026 Solano County Education Legislative Policy Forum on Thursday, Dec. 3.

Presenters will address significant local and statewide education policy issues that could impact Solano County in the coming year. Hear directly from policymakers and subject-matter experts, including Solano WDB Deputy Director Lauren Bender, one of six featured speakers.

The forum is hosted by the 100 Club of Solano and Yolo Counties and offers an opportunity to stay informed, hear different perspectives and engage in conversations about the future of education in our region.
