Oh, what a sale it will be! We needed more space on our shelves upstairs, so we have pulled books from the shelves for the August sale. You, our valued shoppers, will benefit greatly because the number of books in this sale is probably 3 times our usual sale inventory. Don't miss this sale! Great books at incredible prices... $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. We will even have a book cart of 50 cent paperbacks. Special books and children's books will be priced individually.

We are excited to share that our Fairhope Library Director, Mr. Rob Gourlay, was recently awarded the Meritorious Service Award for significant contributions to our community through his vocation. Rob's commitment to the values of a professional librarian helped guide our library in recent years. We are so proud of him! This is a well-deserved honor! Congratulations, Rob!

It's going to be a grand event as we recognize everyone's favorite "Hat Lady", the one and only Megrez Rudolf! Megrez is retiring after 19 years of smiles and delightful costumes that brightened everyone's day. We will miss you, Megrez, and we are thrilled to show how much you are loved.

So, put on your best, funniest, most creative, outrageous, beautiful Hat and join us at 10:00 on Monday, July 6th, in the library's Giddens Conference Center for a fabulous Retirement Party and show Megrez how much you appreciate her and her contributions to making Fairhope Public Library such an outstanding place to visit.

Grateful to everyone that attended the C&C event and to all the members of the Friends of the Fairhope Library that make donations to our community Library possible.

The Friends of the Fairhope Library presented a BIG check for $55,000 to the Fairhope Public Library today!!! This is a combination of donations, proceeds from Chocolate and Ch*****ne, book sales, and more during the past year. The Friends organization has over 500 members...but lots of room for more to join 😁They contribute in large and small ways everyday to the improvement of the Library for the benefit of Fairhope.

These funds will be used for the Summer Reading Program and other services, collection development, and various projects throughout the coming year.
