This morning, 10/16/26, it was great to get back to doing Castle Walks since last weeks was cancelled due to the hurricane. A Lady Bug, Queen Sally, Peekaboo along with other colorful cast members were out to greet the Walking School Bus. Take a look at these pictures of the happy students. It’s magical.

This morning 10/2/26, I started getting dressed in my Castle Walk costume when it started to rain and I got the notice that Castle Walk was called off. After I got into my clothes for the day look what appeared right over Boom Hobbit Castle. Not only was it beautiful it lasted a long while. Can’t help but feel blessed.

Friday 9/15/26 was a beautiful morning for a Castle Walk. There were many in the Walking School Bus starting out their day with us. Our Airbnb guests joined in the fun! The students enjoyed the giant ant, Peekaboo and the Hat Lady. Who knows who will show up next week?

There was lower humidity and a bit of coolness to this morning’s Castle Walk 9/18/26. The Castle Guard came out again and greeted the traffic and then the wonderful Walking School Bus came down the drive. Happy faces of students, adults and pups were seen as they traversed through the castle grounds. Have a great weekend everyone.

Friday’s (9/11/26) Castle Walk barely happened. The weather was not cooperating. The Walking School Bus will walk in the rain but not when it’s lightening. It took a while but at the last minute the lightening cleared. This made for the smallest WSB I've seen. These 4 students and 7 adult escorts are real troopers. It was a pleasure to see them. Hopefully, next Friday the weather will be more cooperative. It has been 25 years. Never forget those we lost on Sept 11th, 2001.

It was a lovely morning (9/4/26) for the first the Walking School Bus Caslte Walk of the 2026-27 school year. This is the 14th year for WSB. One of the unique and magical things about Fairhope. Queen Pagan, Ladies Judith and Elizabeth along with the royal mascot Buddy met the morning traffic, including bicycle riders, before meeting the WSB. Queen Sally greeted the students and families in front of her Boom Hobbit Castle and Nurse Megrez along with her side kick Peekaboo completed the walk in front of Sheldon Castle. All in all it was a royal great time.

Secondly, if anyone in the Fairhope area ever needs to get rid of their goldfish please contact me. We have two ponds and we'd welcome them. Thirdly, Castle Walks begin this coming Friday the 4th. YIPEE!!! Lastly, it is an interesting year for wedding anniversaries in my family. Earlier this month my sister Megrez and her husband John celebrated their 55th,(see photo), my brother Craig and his wife Bestsy celebrated their 60th. Dean and I will celebrate or 48th in October. Our parents made it to 60 years. We all feel blessed.

Thursday, 5/21/26 was the last day of school for the 2025-26 school year and a time to treat the students. Lady Paris did so by putting together, as only she can do, a very creative summer beach fairy scene for the students and families to enjoy! After a quick walk through the castle grounds the bus was greeted by castle residents including castle dweller Megrez Rudolf who appeared in her p.j's to show what she will be wearing on Friday mornings for the summer. Everyone gathered around the fairy scene to take in all of the details. Lady Paris was ready for the beach herself and ready to play. We all hope our Walking School Bus families have a delightful summer. See you in the fall.
