Here is a statement from Fall River developer Anthony Cordeiro on his company's bid to develop the land along Rte. 79/Davol Street.

Statement of Anthony F. Cordeiro 10-21-26

“As the only locally based developer to submit a bid proposal, The Cordeiro Group approached this opportunity with a clear understanding of what’s at stake for Fall River and its future. Our proposal was intentionally created to align with the City’s 2024 Master Plan and its vision for the waterfront, reflecting years of planning and community input.

For decades, we have lived, worked and invested in Fall River, managing more than $130 million in RE assets in Fall River alone; and developing more than 16 commercial and residential properties, including 249 apartments with another 49 expected to break ground in early 2027. We know this city, we believe in its potential and we recognize how important Rt. 79/Davol Street corridor is to its long-term economic vitality.

We strongly believe the value of this opportunity should be measured by how successfully the development matches the community’s vision and serves Fall River for generations to come.

We respect the Commonwealth’s evaluation process and look forward to its decision.”

Anthony F. Cordeiro, The Cordeiro Group
