Nevada is no stranger to natural disasters and weather-related emergencies. Wildfires, earthquakes, flash floods, extreme heat and winter storms remind us why being prepared matters.

NAS Fallon encourages our Sailors, families and neighbors to take these steps today:

✅ Make a plan: Choose meeting locations, identify evacuation routes and select an out-of-area emergency contact. Don't forget about your pets and anyone with medical or accessibility needs.

✅ Build an emergency kit: Gather several days of water and nonperishable food, medications, a first-aid kit, flashlights, batteries, a radio and phone chargers.

✅ Stay informed: Sign up for local emergency alerts, monitor weather forecasts and follow official instructions.

✅ Protect important information: Keep copies of identification, insurance policies and emergency contacts in a secure, waterproof container. For all NAS Fallon personnel, make sure your NFAAS is up to date.

✅ Practice together: Review your plan with everyone in your household and regularly check your supplies.

It's that time of year! NAS Fallon held its Chief Petty Officer pinning ceremony yesterday. Seven new Chiefs were promoted from across various commands here at NAS Fallon. Earning the anchors is a significant milestone, one built on years of leadership, dedication and service. Congratulations to our newest Chiefs and their families on this well-deserved achievement!

⚓ Thank You, Navy Ombudsmen! ⚓

Today we observe Navy Ombudsman Appreciation Day and recognize the dedicated volunteers who support our Sailors, families, and commands. For more than five decades, Navy Ombudsmen have served as a trusted link between command leadership and Navy families, helping families remain informed, connected, and prepared for the demands of Navy life. Their service strengthens our commands and directly contributes to Fleet readiness.

Our Sailors are the strength of our Navy, but no Sailor serves alone.
Navy families are essential to the readiness and resilience of our force, and
Ombudsmen turn our commitment to those families into action. They provide
timely information, connect families with trusted resources, and help them
navigate deployments and periods of uncertainty. They also give command
leaders valuable insight into family needs, enabling commands to respond
effectively. This two-way communication strengthens trust across the command
and helps our Sailors remain focused on the mission and ready to fight and
win! 🇺🇸⚓
