Two of our very own - Kayce Amsden & Sarah Barks! Thank you for all of your hard work & commitment to helping our community, ladies! And thank you to St. Francois County for supporting their vision with your generosity!

As we celebrate National 4-H Week, we're highlighting a great example of what happens when youth leadership and community partnerships come together to make a difference.

What started as a simple community meal has grown into something remarkable in St. Francois County. Through the "Soup, There It Is" initiative, community members, businesses, local organizations and youth volunteers came together to improve food access for neighbors in need.

In 2026, the effort served or delivered 450 meals, collected more than 2,500 pounds of food for local families experiencing food insecurity and provided meal kits to underserved communities. The program's success was made possible through strong local partnerships and the dedication of volunteers, including 4-H members who helped collect donations, prepare meals and deliver food to families.

🌟 St. Francois County 4-H at the Missouri State Fair! 🌟

Erin King and Macy Vaughn of Farmington had a wonderful week showcasing their talents and hard work at the Missouri State Fair!

Both Erin and Macy gave demonstrations in the 4-H Building. Erin showed fairgoers how to make Cowboy Party Mix, while Macy demonstrated how to make Ranch Crackers. They did a fantastic job sharing their skills and knowledge!

Erin and Macy also participated in the Open Youth Division with their floriculture exhibits. In addition, each entered her seed art mosaic project and owl stepping stone in the Open Youth Division.

Erin had the added honor of having her framed patch quilt selected for display at the Missouri State Fair!

Congratulations, Erin and Macy! We are proud of all the time, creativity, and effort you put into your projects and demonstrations. Thank you for representing St. Francois County
4-H so well!

Missouri 4-H members compete at county events in order to qualify for the State Fair 4-H Building Demonstrations. Demonstrations are a great way of sharing what the youth has learned in 4-H projects focused on STEM and Agriculture, Healthy Living, and Civic Engagement. Preparing for demonstrations helps 4-H youth develop research, organizational and communication skills. Presenting a demonstration helps 4-H youth build poise, confidence, and public speaking skills.

Congratulations to all of our 4-H exhibitors on an incredible St. Francois County Fair! Your hard work, dedication, and countless hours caring for your projects have truly paid off. Whether you showed livestock, worked behind the scenes, or supported your fellow members, you represented 4-H with pride.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes to the generous buyers who participated in this year's Sale of Champions. Because of your support, 160 items sold for an incredible total of $311,894.75! Your investment means so much more than a sale, it is an investment in the future of our youth and the next generation of agricultural leaders.

We are also incredibly grateful for the businesses, organizations, families, volunteers, and community members who support our 4-H program throughout the entire year. From sponsoring events and donating supplies to mentoring youth and volunteering countless hours, your generosity makes opportunities like the county fair possible. While the sale total is impressive, the time, talent, and resources you give year-round are truly priceless.

St. Francois County is an amazing community, and your commitment to our youth is something to celebrate. Thank you for believing in our young people, supporting agriculture, and helping 4-H members learn, grow, and succeed.
