🔥 SHARE THE HEAT THIS WINTER! 🔥

6,902 MEALS!🍽️❤️

That's how many meals Uplift's Emergency Winter Overnight Shelter served last winter, thanks in large part to the generosity of our incredible community!

Those meals meant so much more than food. They provided warmth, comfort, and a reminder to individuals and families experiencing homelessness that their community cares.

As we prepare for another winter, we're asking our community to help us Warm the Night and Bring the Heat by providing meals and much-needed shelter supplies!

There are two easy ways you can SHARE THE HEAT!

🍽️ PROVIDE A MEAL THROUGH OUR MEAL TRAIN!

We're already seeing our community step up, with meals being signed up for this winter! A huge THANK YOU to those who have already committed to providing a meal!** We are so grateful for your continued generosity!

Looking for a way to get involved? Make it a group effort! Gather your friends or family, organize a meal with coworkers, or sign up through your church, local business, or community organization.

You could commit to providing a meal once a month throughout the winter, or even just once or twice during the season. Every meal makes a difference, and every commitment helps!

🛒 SHOP OUR AMAZON SHELTER WISH LIST!

From everyday essentials to items that help make the shelter feel a little more like home, our Amazon Wish List includes supplies we'll need throughout the winter. Purchase an item (or several!) and help us prepare for the season ahead.

❤️ WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

Our goal is to raise $149,000 to operate the Emergency Winter Overnight Shelter this season, and we're currently 25% funded. We cannot open unless the necessary funding is secured.

Every meal donated and every item purchased helps reduce our operating expenses, allowing more of our funding to go toward keeping the shelter open and serving those who need it most.

You don't have to make a financial donation to make a difference. You can help by sharing a meal, purchasing supplies, or simply sharing this post with others!

Every Gift. Every Item. Every Hour. Makes a Difference.

Together, we can Warm the Night. Bring the Heat.❤️‍🔥

🔥 BE THE HEAT THIS WINTER! 🔥

Your time could help us open our doors and keep them open! ❤️

Uplift’s Emergency Winter Overnight Shelter hopes to open November 23 through March 15, providing a warm, safe place for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. But we need our community's help to make it happen!

🙋 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Our greatest need is during the 4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. shift. With enough committed volunteers to help provide the two-person coverage needed during this shift, we could significantly reduce staffing costs and stretch our funding further.

And you don't need any special experience to make a difference! Volunteers will receive training and always work alongside EMAA staff.

There are so many ways to help:
❤️ Assist with preparing and serving meals
❤️ Help with laundry, cleaning, and organizing donations
❤️ Assist with shelter operations and daily tasks
❤️ Spend time talking, playing games, or simply showing kindness to shelter guests

Whether you can volunteer occasionally or make a regular commitment, your time matters!

Our goal is to raise $149,000 to operate the shelter this winter, and we are currently 25% funded. We cannot open unless the necessary funding is secured. Volunteers are an important part of helping us bridge that gap by reducing operating expenses.

🔥 WARM THE NIGHT. BRING THE HEAT. 🔥

Last winter, 120 individuals and families experiencing homelessness found support through Uplift’s Emergency Winter Overnight Shelter. But Uplift is about more than providing a warm place to sleep. Of those we served, 49 moved into housing, 27 were employed, 30 were receiving services or treatment through BJC or Centerstone, 33 were receiving disability benefits, 3 were veterans, and 11 were fleeing domestic violence.

This winter, Uplift hopes to open November 23 through March 15—but we cannot open the Emergency Winter Overnight Shelter unless the funding needed to operate is secured. Current grant funding has already brought us 25% of the way toward our $149,000 goal. Now, we need our community to help bridge the remaining gap and make opening our doors possible.

There are three ways you can help us Warm the Night and Bring the Heat:

🔥 GIVE THE HEAT — Help us reach our $149,000 fundraising goal. This year, we no longer have opioid settlement funding that helped support shelter expenses in previous winters. Every financial contribution brings us closer to opening our doors.

🙋 BE THE HEAT — Volunteer your time. Our greatest volunteer need is during the 4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. shift. With enough committed volunteers to help provide the two-person coverage needed during this shift, Uplift could significantly reduce staffing costs and stretch every donated dollar further.

🧤 SHARE THE HEAT — Provide a meal through our Meal Train or purchase needed supplies from our Amazon Shelter Wishlist. Every donated meal and item helps reduce shelter expenses and allows our resources to go further.
