"I made this mask blue for depression, the white represents my healthy side, and brown is for nature. The wavy line that separates the mask is to represent my tremors. The paw print represents my cat, and the tree represents growth."
-Josh
We've been showcasing our Unmasking Brain Injury display around the community for a while now, it's currently set up in the Yates County Office Building. The response has been great, but we've gotten one piece of feedback online consistently. "This is amazing, but I don't live near you. Can you just post the masks?" Thanks for the feedback, now we'll be sharing pictures of the masks along with some words from their creators!
These masks allow our members to tell their stories visually. Share their struggles and triumphs in a way that makes it more comfortable than writing or talking about it. ๐จ
