Dakota County Extension Office, 4100 220th St W, Farmington

Please participate in the awards ceremony (and potluck) for Dakota County SSW youth. We have the State Invitational awards to give out, as well as our local county achievements. We use the same standard goals that the state requires for Wildlife/Shooting. Youth that made it to 8 hours of wildlife and/or 8 hours in a shooting discipline (can get it in more than one) should plan on receiving awards this night.

All are welcome to join us as we celebrate everyone's accomplishments!

Please plan to participate in the potluck.. A Spond event will be started for quick-responses and easy reference.

As always, if you have any questions or information to pass along please reach out. We hope to see you all at the end of the month! Questions should be directed to Cindy Ubelhor.

Families that enroll their youth in 4-H Online by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 1 and pay their 4-H annual dues are eligible for a reduced rate of $20/member, with a family cap/max cost of $50.

On Nov. 2 dues return to $25/member with no family cap.

Complete the member dues form when paying dues, sent out recently to all Dakota County Families via email. The form includes links for credit card payments.

4-H membership dues support Dakota County 4-H operating costs, pay state dues, help keep event costs low, and provide program scholarships.

Paying membership dues does NOT re-enroll members for the 2026-27 4-H year.
In addition to paying dues, members must also re-enroll in 4-H Online.

Cost should not be a barrier to 4-H participation. Please contact Kris Vatter, [email protected], for assistance.

Congratulations to our 2026-27 MN 4-H State Ambassadors and Ag Ambassadors!

Kushal B got involved in 4-H via Youth Teaching Youth (YTY) and is a State Ambassador. He feels 4-H is an amazing opportunity that has given him valuable skills, such as public speaking and critical thinking, while also connecting him to a lot of unique experiences and people. The skills he learned in 4-H have allowed him to excel in a variety of different activities ranging from debate to karate. It has also allowed him to lead those in need of help. 4-H has pushed him towards growth in almost every aspect of his life.

Lucas D and Tristan K are Agricultural Ambassadors, both members of the Empire Rockets 4-H Club.

Lucas D has been involved with 4-H for 13 years and participated in many activities, including showing rabbits and the Crop Scouting Contest.

Tristan K has been involved in 4-H for eight years, and poultry and food preservation are among his favorite projects. Throughout his time in 4-H, he has also served in both club and county officer roles, which have helped him grow as a leader and feel more comfortable sharing what he's learned with others.
