💧 BOIL WATER ADVISORY: What You Need to Know
The Town of Farmville is currently under a Boil Water Advisory while required water testing is completed following the water main repair.
While the advisory is in effect, residents should take precautions to ensure their water is safe for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and other activities where water could be consumed.
🫗 Use bottled water OR boil tap water for at least 1 minute before using it for consumption.
🚰 If your water appears cloudy or discolored, follow the Town’s guidance for flushing your cold-water lines. Do not use hot water to flush your plumbing, as this can draw sediment and air into your water heater.
⚠️ Most importantly: Do not assume the water is safe simply because the water main has been repaired. The advisory remains in effect until the required testing is completed and the Town receives clearance to lift it.
The earliest the current advisory could be lifted is Wednesday morning, pending satisfactory test results.
