Families seeking Christmas assistance through the Salvation Army Angel Tree partnership must submit their applications by October 31.

URGENT: WE NEED A HOME FOR HOPE!
Marine Toys for Tots serving Cumberland and Robeson Counties still does not have a building for this year’s campaign—and our incoming toy shipments are approaching.
We urgently need at least 10,000 square feet of donated warehouse, vacant retail, or flex space from now through December 25. The facility will be used to receive, sort, store, and distribute toys to local children.
Our preferred needs include:
At least 10,000 square feet
Heat
Loading access
Bus access for families attending distribution
We can provide our own insurance and a tax acknowledgment letter.

On November 2, the window to oppose the Trump administration’s assault on the 2030 Census slams shut.

Silence from our communities is exactly what this administration is counting on. Every voice missing from the public record is a voice this administration will claim doesn’t matter.
Let’s be clear about what’s at stake:
• Representation: Fewer people counted means fewer seats, fewer resources, and fewer votes for our communities.
• Accountability: Without race and ethnicity data, discrimination becomes less visible and unenforceable.
• Power: Deliberately distorted data doesn’t just erase numbers. It erases people.

Reminder: The public comment period closes November 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET. This is our last chance to make some noise.
