Every mile truly does matter! Thanks to an incredible outpouring of generosity from local businesses, organizations, Fayette Senior Services (FSS) members, and community supporters, FSS raised more than $43,000 through its Every Mile Matters Transportation Fundraiser. These funds will directly support the organization’s transportation program and will help ease the financial burden of transportation for seniors to help ensure the cost of a ride does not become a barrier to receiving needed care.

The fundraiser was launched in response to significant reductions in federal transportation funding that created a nearly $90,000 deficit for the program and resulted in increased ride costs for clients. For many older adults in Fayette County who no longer drive, transportation is much more than simply getting from one place to another. It can mean making it to a dialysis treatment, keeping an important doctor’s appointment, picking up medication, or maintaining the independence and connection that are so important to quality of life.

The response from the community was a powerful reminder of just how much Fayette County cares for its older adults. FSS is especially grateful to Rotary Club of Peachtree City, whose extraordinary support as the campaign’s premier sponsor made a tremendous impact on the success of Every Mile Matters. FSS also extends tremendous appreciation to QTS, whose generous commitment as a major supporter provided significant momentum to the campaign. Every Mile Matters was further strengthened through the substantial support of SMC3, Fayette Law Group Attorney Victoria Farrell, and Salt Spa Haven , along with the generous grant provided by Yamaha. These sponsors will be featured on FSS transportation van wraps, serving as a visible reminder throughout Fayette County of the businesses and organizations that helped keep our seniors moving.

“We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who believed in this cause and chose to be part of it,” shared Morgan Lanier, FSS Program Development Coordinator. “Every donation represented more than a financial contribution. It represented someone in our community saying that our seniors matter, their independence matters, and their ability to access the care and services they need matters. Raising more than $43,000 is something our entire community can be proud of, and we are incredibly grateful.”

🇨🇺 We enjoyed a little taste of Cuba right here in Peachtree City last week! 🌴🍴

We enjoyed a wonderful cooking demonstration and tasting with Executive Chef Luis Alas of SoCu Kitchen, who shared the vibrant flavors, rich traditions, and cultural influences that make Cuban cuisine so special.

From learning about traditional Cuban sofrito to sampling savory favorites and sweet pastries, we got a delicious glimpse into the history, heritage, and family traditions that bring Cuban food to life.

A big thank-you to Chef Luis for sharing his knowledge, passion, and love of Cuban culture with us!

🍽️ Looking for your next lunch spot? Check out So Cu Kitchen! Trust us, your taste buds will thank you!

We wanted to extend a big THANK YOU to Peachtree City Animal Clinic for delivering a wag of difference in our community!

Fayette Senior Services is so grateful for our wonderful community partners at Peachtree City Animal Clinic for helping us keep pets and seniors together through our AniMeals program! Their generosity in providing veterinary care for the pets of our Meals on Wheels/AniMeals participants helps ensure that our seniors can continue to enjoy the love, comfort, and companionship their furry family members bring to their lives.

We’re thankful for their compassion and commitment to making a difference for both the seniors and pets in our community!

Want to help? AniMeals is currently in need of wet cat food and wet dog food. Every donation, big or small, helps us support local seniors and their beloved companions.

Thank you, Peachtree City Animal Clinic, for being such a valued partner and for helping make our community a more caring place for all! 🐾

UPDATE: In just a little over a week since launching, we've already raised $4,210 towards our goal of $50,000! That is 842 meals provided to Meals On Wheels clients!

As the season of giving draws near, there is no better time to remind the seniors in our community that they are not alone. We invite you to be part of something truly special! Fayette Senior Services 2026 Project Love Campaign is officially underway, and with your help, we can bring nourishment, comfort, and connection to homebound seniors throughout Fayette County. Please consider delivering a difference in the lives of those receiving Meals On Wheels by providing the gift of meals!

This holiday season, you have the opportunity to bring warmth, nourishment, and human connection to the lives of homebound seniors right here in Fayette County. Project Love seeks to strengthen and expand the connection of seniors to our community by providing a daily meal delivery and check in visit while enhancing those connections with holiday and weekend meals. Through our Meals On Wheels program, and our heartfelt Project Love campaign, we’re working to ensure no senior feels forgotten during a time that should be filled with comfort and care.

For many of our aging neighbors, a warm meal and a friendly face at the door are more than daily routines, they are lifelines. They are reminders that someone still sees them, values them, and cares for them. Project Love extends this connection beyond the weekday meals they receive by providing much-needed nourishment on weekends and holidays, days that can oftentimes feel the most lonely.

This year, our goal is to provide 10,000 meals - $50,000 worth of love, delivered right to their doors.

Every $5 you give provides one meal, and so much more: dignity, comfort, and the priceless gift of knowing they’re not alone. Fayette Senior Services, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has proudly served our seniors for years, but we can't do it without your support. Together, with the generosity of individuals and local businesses, we can ensure hundreds of seniors experience the joy and connection they deserve this holiday season and beyond. Please, help us deliver more than just meals. Help us deliver hope. Let’s come together as a community and show our seniors that love still knocks on their door!

It’s hard to imagine that so many seniors in Fayette County are not only going hungry because they have difficulty preparing a meal, but they also do not have the opportunity for holiday meals that many of us take for granted. Meals are delivered by a dedicated group of volunteers who provide not only a meal but a well-check visit. These visits enable home bound seniors to continue to live independently in the comfort of their own home. Many of our clients often share the impact it has on their lives and their gratitude for the service! “I look forward to receiving Meals On Wheels every day, not only for the meals, but also for the companionship it provides for me! It is more than just a meal, it makes those getting them feel loved and like they mean something to the community. I was provided the opportunity to have a tasty and healthy meal and the drivers who deliver the meals have become some of my closest friends. Without MOW, I would have little contact with others. Meals On Wheels is my whole day!” expressed one of FSS’ MOW recipients. Help make a difference in the lives of seniors by providing the gift of meals and connections this holiday season.

Together, we deliver a difference!
